Searchie Hacks: How To Build A Content Funnel With Searchie Hubs And Zoom

Are you a seasoned Searchie hacker?

If you know, you know.

But, if you’re new around this neck of the woods, our Searchie Hacks are monthly quick, quirky training sessions that we host live in the Searchie Facebook group. Typically, what we do is break down a bunch of steps inside of the platform and hack how it would work inside of Searchie. These hacks often use another product or app (in this case Zoom) to create a solution for your business, like a content funnel.

By the end of this hack, you’ll be able to master building a content funnel using your Searchie Hub and Zoom recordings.

A content funnel is a strategy in which you can capture the attention of your audience, pique their interest, then keep them engaged and nurtured until they complete your funnel with a purchase.

Before we hop into things, who else has lived on Zoom for the last year?

If you’re one of many that have been using Zoom throughout the pandemic, you’re probably well acquainted with Zoom life… and the TikToks that go along with it:

In all seriousness, Zoom has only grown in its popularity and use cases.

In fact, did you know that Zoom sales increased by nearly 400% over a year? That’s some sweet trajectory if you ask us…

Not to brag, but we noticed a spike of users with Zoom early on, so this Media Connection is one of our oldest. It’s also one our most frequently used, which comes as no surprise.

Without further ado, let’s dive into it…

Starting with the outcomes of performing this hack:

Outcomes

Not sure if this hack is for you? Well, if you’re using Zoom for any of the use cases below, we’d bet that it’s worth your time.

Oh, and by ‘time’ we mean 15 minutes. Yeah, these hacks aren’t intended to take up your day. Swap out mindless scrolling in Instagram for a free and easy tactic to leverage the time that you’re already spending on Zoom.

Before we continue, why should you be recording?

Well, if you’re hosting a virtual event and want to sell the recordings afterwards, this will definitely benefit you.

Let’s circle back to those outcomes. This guide will help you build a create a content funnel with Searchie and generate leads from your free content while building your own Zoom recording library. Plus, this strategy will help you to increase the replay value of your Zoom recordings.

Webinars

Webinars of all shapes and sizes! Whether you’re recording them or attending them. If you’re recording a Zoom webinar to view at a later time or share with your audience, this hack is for you.

Virtual Events

This has become a hugely popular use of Zoom. Anything from small and big events, Summits, Webinars, Masterminds, professional events, and everything in between have been hosted on Zoom.

And let’s not forget all of the personal virtual events we’ve attended throughout the pandemic.

We’re talking baby showers, weddings, paint nights with your best friends, and more. Check out this blog about all the ways you can use Searchie that you never thought of. We chatted a bit about personal events like this, as well as other cases that you might be using Zoom for!

Coaching

This one is pretty straightforward. If you’re using Zoom for coaching calls in any capacity, such as private or group coaching, one-on-one sessions and/or any type of educational calls, then keep reading.

Team Meetings

We use Zoom because our team is scattered all around the world, from our Headquarters in Canada, to Romania, the Philippines, Argentina, the USA, and all the way to Portugal… we’re a global bunch!

Team Searchie uses Zoom for meetings, basically all day long. It’s the only way we can meet “face-to-face”. **warm and fuzzy feelings**

One Last Thing…

Sure. Many places around the world are returning to normal, but we anticipate that Zoom is here to stay.

Corporations like Apple, Uber and Google are encouraging employees to return to their pre-pandemic offices for at least half of the time they’re working, or three days a week. While Twitter said it plans to let some of its workforce continue working remotely “forever” if they choose.

What You’ll Need To Build Your Content Funnel With Searchie

There are two tools required for this hack, if you haven’t already guessed… We’ve literally spelled it out in the title of this post.

Searchie

It’s pretty obvious you’re going to need Searchie. If you don’t have a Searchie account yet, head over to searchie.io to sign up.

If you’re not sold on it yet, no worries. Take Searchie for a test drive with our free trial. If you’re already a user, howdy! Sign in so you can follow along with us step-by-step.

Zoom

You’ll need a Zoom account but more specifically a Zoom Pro account.

Zoom Pro is required so that your recordings can be stored in the cloud and then pulled in to Searchie. Cue Step 1…

Step 1

Connect Zoom To Searchie To Start Building Your Content Funnel

Don’t worry, this process is super simple.

We’re talking three-clicks-only, kind of simple.

First, you’re going to add Zoom as an integration on Searchie via Media Connections. This help article will show you exactly how to connect into your Zoom account.

When connecting, you’ll be prompted to authorize your Zoom account in Searchie, which will allow us to access your cloud recordings. From there, we can pull all of your videos from your Zoom account into Searchie, and then the magic begins!

All of those recordings will automatically be transcribed, captioned, and fully searchable. How sweet is that?

Pro tip: by having all of your Zoom recordings inside of Searchie, you’ll be able to free up space in your cloud. It also acts as a backup for all your recordings, so it’s a win-win.

Bonus, if you need to share those recordings individually, just use the URL from Searchie so that the person you are sharing them with can search through your recording.

Toggle Auto-Processing On

One of the cool things about Searchie is that you can enable auto-processing. This allows our system to automatically download those videos as soon as they come in. This is important because your Zoom recordings will automatically be processed in your Searchie account as you create new episodes.

So, if you’re hosting a client call, webinar or live event, the videos are automatically piped into Searchie. That means they’ll receive the full Searchie treatment – fully transcribed, captioned, and searchable.

The biggest takeaway is that auto-process is going to save you time. You’ll never need to download… then upload another video again.

You can do this in your Searchie account by clicking on the toggle beside the little cloud icon. This support article shows you exactly how to in 3 simple steps.

Fair warning, once auto-processing is on, the videos will count towards your monthly upload hours. If you’re on the business plan, you’re in the clear! You have unlimited uploads. If not, here’s 5 reasons to join the Searchie Business Plan.

If you’re unsure how many hours you have left, find your usage right here.

Step 2

Create An Automated Playlist Of Recordings

What’s a Playlist?

Searchie Playlists are a collection of Media Files chosen by you. Think of Searchie Playlists like Spotify Playlists, you add videos just like you would add songs. Then, your Playlist can be shared in a Searchie Hub, as a URL, or embedded into your external site.

You can automate what goes into the Playlist using File Tags and/or Folders.

The reason why we’re creating a playlist is because we want to connect your Zoom Folder to a Searchie Hub. You’ll see why below. And don’t forget that a Playlist can also be shared outside of a Hub.

Let’s say you serve a one-on-one client that you have Zoom calls with. You can add all of your calls with this client in a Playlist (that is only available to them; thank you, File Tags and Audience Tags) and share it with them as a URL.

After every new call, the recording will automatically be populated into their unique, private Playlist. By automating your Playlist, you’ll be drastically minimizing the time you need to spend manually sharing your content all while building your content funnel.

Get it? Basically, you don’t need a Hub to have a Playlist, but we want to make one today so that we have a home (landing page) for your Playlist.

Step 3

Build A Searchie Hub To Get Your Content Funnel Started

If you’re already a seasoned Searchie user, head to the next step. You’ve streamlined your content into a fully automated Playlist. You’re one step closer to building a content funnel with Searchie. Now let’s share it in a Searchie Hub!

If you don’t have a Searchie account yet, you might feel a little lost around this point. In the simplest of terms, Searchie Hubs are where you can manage and package all of your video content.

Head to searchie.io to learn more about Hubs and sign up for a free trial.

Not ready to build a Hub? No worries. Add the automated Playlist you’ve created in Searchie and share/embed to your funnel or website building software. Here’s how you can grab the embed code to share your Searchie Playlist.

Please note, if you plan on embedding your Playlist on an external site (like WordPress or Squarespace) it will automatically be updated with new videos that are processed and added to your Searchie Playlist. Since you toggled on that magic auto-process, new vids will automatically be shown anywhere you have embedded or shared the URL.

Keep going, we’re almost done building your content funnel!

If you’ve been following along in your account, going step-by-step… go ahead and take a minute to give yourself a pat on the back. 👏

Add Your Automated Playlist To A Hub

We don’t know about you, but we avoid FOMO (fear of missing out) as much as we can. Nobody likes missing out….

So, if you aren’t using Searchie Hubs already, you should be. Searchie users cannot get enough of Hubs. Some have DOZENS.

We’re not exaggerating, it’s impressive.
